As Jane's alarm was set for 3:50 AM and mine for 7:00, the disparity of our priorities is probably evident. But I quickly got into the excitement. The pageantry was thrilling. Those Brits are excelled in grand events. As the world watched, I saw it all and made these photos from my easy chair. Although the experience was certainly different, I could see far more than those present. Kate could have used a little lube on her ring finger.

Eleven of the usual suspects were in the line-up this evening at Lola's.

Palm Beach Centennial

The Town of Palm Beach centennial celebration was Sunday, April 17. I was impressed with the planning that must have gone on for this big event. There was a fine fireworks show plus a light show on the front of Whitehall.

I counted seven of these large video screens.

Two high definetion ones were for the VIP section

on the front lawn of the museum.

        

                  These most imaginative and fastinating "horses" captivated me. I wish I had a better picture.                                                         .

City Walk

A smaller but fun group enjoyed a delightful walk along Lake Trail this morning.

Barley Barber Swamp

This morning we had a tour of Barley Barber Swamp and  then had lunch at Seminole Inn in Indiantown.

Friday's Double Header

In the afternoon at The Four Arts we saw the movie, The Last Station, a dramatization of the last years of Leo Tolstoy's life. I found it entertaining but not a "must see." I think most people would like this movie.

In the evening at the Florida Atlantic University theater we attended a very fine production of The Drowsey Chaperone. It was a terrific production.

Frugal Dining Out

Ten of us, with Freda hosting, got together today at Denny's. Robert and Phoebe invited us for dessert.

Kravis Volunteer Salute

Tonight, with a Mexican theme, was the annual Volunteer Salute for Kravis volunteers.

 

  

Jane's Birthday Today

Since January 1, 1983 when I first met Jane, my life was changed forever. I feel lucky to have such a good wife and never have I had the slightest regret about our marriage decision on January 1, 1986.     
       .    Happy Birthday, Jane.

Win Win, So-so

Win Win is a mildly entertaining film about a struggling lawyer who coaches a high school wrestling team. The story is contrived, formulaic and unrealistic. I thought its strengths were casting and directing. I'm glad we went. Most people would enjoy this movie but it isn't an important one. We saw it last night at Muvico.

Governor Rick Scott's appearance at the convention center today brought out a few protestors including Jane & me.
