Show Business

Thursday evening we ushered for The Duluth Playhouse's production of Into The Woods. Jane and I both thought they did a very good job but she didn't enjoy the show as much as I did. We both had trouble understanding the lyrics and dialog. We had the same problem with The 39 Steps which we also enjoyed back in June. We've both been pleased with all the shows we've seen by this community theater.

Vista Cruise

Our annual Vista Cruise on the lake and in the harbor last night was most enjoyable because we went places we hadn't been before and the weather was mild.

I generally do not comment on the DVDs we watch but this one is a "must see."
You Don't Know Jack with Al Pacino is nearly perfect and enjoyable, if not for the subject and message, but certainly, for the splendid performances, writing, and directing. I found no fault with this film.

This morning we went to the agate festival in Moose Lake. Below are two pictures of the agate stampede and a tall ship we happened upon when returning to Duluth.

Today we toured the factory and enjoyed a free lunch at the 100th anniversary party of Duluth Pack.
Yesterday we went to the huge rummage sale at the UU church and the ice cream social in our building.
Wednesday we had the grounds tour at Glensheen and stayed for the band concert.

When we weren't paying attention, the peonies came out at the rose garden (pictures below). They seem to have been battered by the rough weather and are past their prime. The roses will be ready this week for their coming-out party.

This Week

The annual concert of Strikepoint, an outstanding handbell choir, was last night. They are amazing.

This morning we went to The Swamp Sisters for breakfast with our friends Bill & Marlene, Lowell & Bev, and their friends, Paul & Adel.

Our aerobics class is challenging but satisfying and one of my favorite activities.
